Darren is proud to be born and raised a New York City kid. After graduating from the George Washington University, Darren worked his way through the trenches of the NYC indie film scene and started producing in 2002. His first feature as a producer, Manito, premiered at Sundance and was nominated for several Independent Spirit awards. Darren spent the next five years producing low budget films and handling the US production for international productions that would shoot in the States. In 2007 Darren partnered with Chris Marsh and opened Atlantic Pictures in order to produce smart films with broad appeal, as well as commercials and branded entertainment. Films produced by Atlantic have gone on to win awards at Cannes, Toronto, Venice, and other major festivals.
Chris has worked in the entertainment industry for over twenty years and brings a creative spirit and a wealth of production know-how to any project he takes on. His feature producing credits at Atlantic include writer/director Saverio Costanzo's Hungry Hearts, Peter Glanz’s The Longest Week, Brant Sersen’s Splinterheads, and Tom O’Brien’s Fairhaven. In 2010 he made his first foray into writing and directing for brands with Chief Household Officer, a branded entertainment web series, which Atlantic produced in partnership with Howcast for Hewlett Packard and Youtube. Prior to starting Atlantic, he spent the first decade of his career working freelance as a line producer, location manager, production manager, and in other capacities on dozens of feature films, television shows, and commercials.
HEAD OF PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT
Alden got into film like everyone else — by being forced to watch Kurosawa films at the age of seven. (That was everyone, right?) He joined Atlantic Pictures in 2012 where he oversees production and focuses on the development and management of Atlantic’s film and series projects. Prior to joining Atlantic, Alden worked for six years as a management consultant for PwC. His first experience in the industry was as an MBA intern at Lin Pictures on the Warner Bros. lot. Alden received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and his MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
Julia is a Canadian-transplant who moved to New York during the Great Recession to learn how to make video with the aim that it would make her a more employable and self-sufficient writer. Instead, she fell in love with documentary. When she finished her master's at NYU she joined Thomson Reuters where she held various roles, first in editorial, then in production management, and later in their brand studio. She has worked with Fortune 500 companies, led production for the BBC's live 2016 US elections coverage, and was the producer for Breakingviews and The Exchange (a talk show and podcast for Reuters.com.) She is an Emmy-nominated director and produced a season of the joint Reuters-Foreign Policy Association series "Great Decisions," which aired on PBS. Julia joined Atlantic in 2018. She loves diving, speaks three languages well (and a fourth badly), and once climbed an active volcano.
Michal grew up in Slovakia and got his undergraduate degree at Harvard. He's worked in film and video production holding various roles for over six years.
Jillian got her first camera when she was ten and ever since then she has made shorts with her sister, friends, and sometimes even actors. She went to Northwestern University, where she learned how people legitimately make movies. After graduating, she left her beautiful home of Chicago and came to NYC, where she worked as an assistant to a Broadway producer and associate producer on a documentary before joining Atlantic's team.
